Introduction

In my previous article, I discussed strategies to eliminate symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder at work.  They included limiting distractability and avoiding procrastination.  This article will expand upon this topic and provide readers with two more tips to limit symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in the work place.  They include limiting hyperactivity throughout the work day, as well as limiting memory loss throughout the day at work.

Limiting Hyperactivity Throughout The Work Day

One of the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is hyperactivity.  Therefore, the first tip to eliminate symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder at work is to limit hyperactivity.  According to adhdandyou.com, “A patient with ADHD may find it helpful to take intermittent breaks to move around, exercise, or take a walk. During meetings, taking notes may help to prevent restlessness.”  To explain further, individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may benefit from taking breaks during the day to avoid hyperactivity.  In addition, taking notes during meetings may help to prevent restlessness during meetings.

Limit A Poor Memory

In addition to limiting hyperactivity throughout the work day, another strategy or tip to lessen symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder at work is to limit a poor memory.  According to adhdandyou.com, “To counteract forgetfulness, adults with ADHD can try writing checklists for complicated tasks; using a day planner, smart phone, or other PDA device to keep track of tasks and events; setting up reminder announcements on the computer; and writing notes on sticky pads and putting them in highly visible places.”  Therefore, to explain further, a helpful way to limit forgetfulness is to write checklists for daily, complicated tasks.  In addition, it might be helpful to use a day planner to keep track of tasks and events.

Conclusion

To conclude this article, two strategies to limit the daily stressors of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder have been mentioned in this article, including limiting hyperactivity throughout the day, in addition to limiting poor memory or forgetfulness throughout the work day.  The work day is stressful for anyone.  However, for individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder the work day can be even more stress-provoking.  This extra stress on an individual with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can make completing tasks very difficult to accomplish.  These two strategies for limiting symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in the work place are quite practical strategies to use.
